For the past decade, Mitchell’s experience has been centered in the maritime industry in Ghana, where he’s been serving as the Managing Director for Agilent Maritime Services Ltd, a multi-million dollar privately held limited liability company licensed with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).  At Agilent, Mitchell’s background in technology has been very instrumental in automating several mechanical processes through the implementation of a management style that relies heavily on data collection and analyses to forecast future trends and enforce operational strategies.

More recently, Mitchell has begun a Shipping Agency, Smeedies Maritime, which seeks to provide agency, cargo, and husbandry services to international shipping lines across various ports in West Africa.

Mitchell volunteers as the Vice President of the Licensed Stevedores Association of Ghana, and also serves on advisory boards for the GPHA as a subject matter expert on certain projects e.g., Mitchell was part of the sub-committee that planned and built the paperless enterprise system for GPHA which is still being used today.

In his spare time, Mitchell likes to spend time with his family and friends, as well as work in his Non-Profit Organization that is geared toward missionary work in remote African villages.
